This project explores urban context in Charleston, SC. A culinary Institute complete with teaching kitchens, a restaurant, a bar, and rooftop garden sits between restaurant Poogan's Porch, and a mixed use building on Queen St. Taking inspiration from the canopy of oak trees through the city and the spatial and light conditions they create. In a southern climate, trees provide comfort and conditioning, a reprieve from the blaring sun in the spring and summer months.
