This is my CMY Color Lamp designed for my building technologies class during our lighting unit. I used Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow Plexiglass to create a broad spectrum of color. This lamp has a playful color story, the outer layer spins allowing for each turn angle to create a different color story.
I designed a 3d printed base with three pieces, a base that attatched to a turntable bearing, an inner layer, and outer layer. I spray painted these to match my light socket. I lasercut the plexi-glass into custom shapes and bent them with a heat gun, and attatched them to the base. Cutout details on the outer layer let the inner colors shine through.
