Hello, I am Hannah Gutierrez, an architecture student at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. I am pursuing my bachelor's in design with a major in architecture. I grew up in Bethesda, Maryland near Washington DC and have always appreciated its unique architecture and history. This past summer I interned at Clemens Bruns Shaub & The Assosciates Studio in Vero Beach, FL. I worked with with architectural drawings and digital models, was able to go on site visits, and see the construction process in different phases. I have been conducting research over the past year, with hopes of future publication I presented at the Undergraduate Research Symposium this April. Currently I am involved in the university community as a leader. My first semester I became a part of UF’s first architecture student council and helped to establish the organization. I represented my peers and now mentor underclassmen. I  serve the community by I volunteering as Vice President of UF’s Be the Match Chapter, a Bone Marrow registry which saves lives by connecting donors to patients in need.  A life long passion for art has lead me to the field of design, and my background as an artist has helped as a designer to develop composition, color theory, and lighting conditions. I continue to be inspired by art and the environment around me whether it be Gainesville's mossy oaks or DC's cherry blossoms, monuments, and museums. Something you might not know from my resume and portfolio  is that I like to challenge myself whether it be completing research or trying new sports like golf and long-distance running.
